ObjectiveTo characterize and evaluate the variation in serum concentrations of oocyte-secreted growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF9) bone morphogenetic protein 15 (BMP15) throughout menstrual cycle women from young to advanced reproductive ages.DesignCross-sectional, observational, exploratory study.SettingMulticenter university-based clinical practices laboratories.Patient(s)Serum was collected every 1–3 days 3 cohorts healthy, ovulatory women: menses late luteal phase (21–29 years age; n = 16; University Otago) across one interovulatory interval (18-35 10; 45–50 15; Saskatchewan).Intervention(s)None.Main Outcome Measure(s)To detect changes GDF9 BMP15 cycle, mean concentration variance were statistically modeled using a generalized additive model location, shape scale (GAMLSS). Follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing estradiol, progesterone, anti-Müllerian hormone also assessed.Result(s)GDF9 detectable 54% 73% varied 236-fold 52-fold between women, respectively.
